How is natural cobalt ore processed into cobalt concentrate? We all know that cobalt resources in nature mostly exist as associated ores, such as: copper cobalt ore, nickel cobalt ore, arsenic cobalt ore, etc. Therefore, in order to get cobalt concentrate, we have to go through four stages of crushing, grinding, flotation and drying, and the main equipment used are jaw crusher, impact crusher, ball mill, flotation machine and dryer. Crushing link: Natural cobalt ore is a kind of hard metal and large ore with magnetic properties. In order to extract cobalt concentrate, the first step is to crush it to medium size with a jaw crusher and then to fine crush it with an impact crusher. Jaw crusher is chosen here because it is a high-strength crusher specially designed for ore with compressive strength not higher than 320MPz. There are 15 types of jaw crushers with processing capacity between 1-1100t/h and discharge size between 10-360mm, which is a crusher suitable for small, medium and large production lines. After the fine crushing of cobalt ore by impact crusher, the efficiency of subsequent extraction of cobalt concentrate can be improved. Grinding process: The finely crushed cobalt ore cannot meet the requirements of flotation, so it needs to be ground by the widely used and convenient maintenance ball mill, which is widely used in mineral processing, construction, chemical industry, etc. There are 13 models, with a fineness of 0.074-0.89mm and a capacity of 0.65-50tph. ore goes to the flotation process, otherwise the grinding process is repeated.
Flotation process: The cobalt ore that meets the particle size requirement enters the flotation machine, and some chemicals are added to collect the high-grade cobalt concentrate and realize the separation of cobalt and other impurities.
Drying link: the cobalt concentrate collected in the flotation link contains certain moisture, and we use the dryer to dry it, so that we get cobalt ore with higher taste, which will be more practical and the sales price of cobalt concentrate we produce will be higher.
