EdCamp Atlanta will take place on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Woodward Academy near the Atlanta airport.

The day will be 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with 45 minute learning sessions. We hope you will use the 15 minutes in between each session to navigate the building, tweet, and reflect on the sessions. You're welcome to join us later in the evening for the after-party at a local restaurant.

Wireless internet will be available for your laptop or other wireless device.

For those of you who have never gone to an Edcamp before, please note the unusual part of the morning where we will build the schedule. Edcamp doesn’t believe in paying fancy people to come and talk at you about teaching. At an Edcamp, the attendees facilitate the sessions! So Edcamp won’t succeed without a whole bunch of you wanting to run a session of some kind! 

What kinds of sessions might you run?

  • Discussions on issues in education
  • Share a model lesson or unit
  • Conduct an inquiry session into a new tool
  • Share something you’re passionate about
  • Discuss new things you’d like to learn more about
  • Share activities you’re looking to improve
  • Anything else you can think of that will attract other interested teachers 

Edcamp Atlanta should be a great day of learning! Even if you don’t feel like facilitating a session, please come ready to share ideas.

    Directions:
    • From I-85 heading South, take the Virginia Avenue exit (exit 73). Go right off the exit and proceed approximately 1/2 mile to Madison Avenue. Turn right (onto Madison Avenue). Drive two blocks (crossing Hardin Avenue and Cambridge Avenue) and you will see the Lower School on your right. Pass the Lower School and turn right at the next stop sign (Walker Avenue). The parking lot entrance will be on your right on Walker Avenue.
    • From I-85 heading North, take the Virginia Avenue West exit (Exit 73B). Go right off the exit and proceed approximately 3/4 mile to Madison Avenue. Turn right (onto Madison Avenue). Drive two blocks (crossing Hardin Avenue and Cambridge Avenue) and you will see the Lower School on your right. Pass the Lower School and turn right at the next stop sign (Walker Avenue). The parking lot entrance will be on your right on Walker Avenue.


    Please enter the physical address of the Lower School because entering "Woodward Academy" into a GPS will take you to the wrong area of campus.
